I'm so glad someone started a thread like this - i was going to today if i didn't see one. I haven't been posting on GWGuru much, just started -- but i've been playing GW from the original pre-release Guildwars Prophecies event lol.
I just wanted to say a big huuuggeee thankyou to everyone on the Guildwars crew for putting so much time and effort into this game. Our guild (the KTG) doesn't do hardly any PVP... just never got into it. We are however, very big into the PVE side of GW. Guildwars Prophecies was our first love, we weren't all that huge on Factions (it just felt like the storyline suffered...and that's what our guild usually focuses on first), and now with Nightfall - We are Absolutely in love with the game.
I love how you guys took all the best elements of Factions and all the best elements of Prophecies -- and made Nightfall. The storyline is great, the scenery is great, there is a very nice variety to armor/monsters/missions & quests. We very very much appreciate the voice talent lol, the moving mouths, and I personally dig the battle music.
Aside from a few bugs (the portals are a little glitched sometimes, a few of the quests lock up occassionally, and my silver and red dyes don't stack lol), Nightfall, is in all of our opinion, the best GW yet. Prophecies will always be our first love -- but seeing how i just spent almost an entire weekend -- chained to my machine... lol and even now, sitting here at work, im thinking about playing it tonight... Yeah, i'd say its a rockin game.
Thank you again for all your hard work, we - the community, really really appreciate you, and the game

Nightfall is the best thing to happen to Guild Wars since it launched last year.

Actually it was two years ago. But back on topic, I've only just gotten to the Sunspear Refuge place (whatever it's called) and so far the game is fantastic. Great job to the devs!

2 Thumbs up!
My wife and I are having a blast with Nightfall. They are predicting a long cold winter here and this chapter will make it pass a lot easier.

I very rarely post as its not really my thing but felt compelled to post in this thread though...
I just want to say a big thanks to Anet as well You guys & gals have done a great job on Nightfall.
I was a bit disapointed with Factions but can still appreciate the effort that went into that chapter though. But as a PvE/explorer type of player Nightfall is very sweet indeed. Bravo

I wholeheartedly agree with the OP.
ANet has done a great job.
What's more though, is I can't believe the number of people still COMPLAINING.
Christ, people complained, and have been complaining about numerous things that have been changed in Nightfall, FOR THEM, and yet, it's still not good enough. People still complain. What gets me is ANet actually listens. They listened and they changed things, some of which were good, some of which (in agreeance) I would rather have not seen. Regardless, ANet has listened to countless complaints and people are still not happy.
Nobody is ever satisfied, and always wants more. I think it's hilarious.
I'm perfectly content with how this game turned out, regardless of it's minor errors.
And as someone said, Nightfall is for PvE what Factions was for PvP. Simple as that.

No, Factions was not for PvP. I'm sick of seeing PvE players saying Factions was for PvP. If you actually played PvP beyond alliance battles and possibly random arenas, you would never say that. Nightfall had already made more impact on PvP with heroes (Not in a good way. HA = Fort Aspenwood with fame) than Factions could ever dream of.
Mini-rant aside, PvE in Nightfall is absolutely amazing.

Great job ANet and all. I was a little hesitant after the AI update, but the bugs are gone and I have had a great time so far in NF with my Sin and Elonan Necro (I'm avoiding D and P for a little while longer). I love the heros and the beautiful environments, and tanking with my sin before I got the heros to lvl 20! Just need some way so I didn't have to work!
Thanks to everyone at ANet for putting all the hard work in.

So far this is the most engaging game so far and my expectations were way too high. And yet they were exceeded. Extraordinary. Arenanet is to computer-based gaming (all gaming) as DaVinci was to 15th century Florence. You are creating great art and it is wicked cool. Thank you.

Nicely done ANET. /clap The idea that you can play a game of this quality without having to pay a monthly fee is incredible. (don't change that k.. ) and I think the voice acting IS WAY WAY better.
PS...that would be a fun contest eh ANET? Get your voice on GW? Win a spot in a cinematic? You could be here cutout? /pickme (I have a voice acting voice...I think)
Guildwars is by far my favorite game. (and I've been playing games for years upon years...ever since I was old enough to type 'get sword' or 'use key'...) Each chapter (I do mean each) has been rich and the story has always been good. To me, thats what makes a game. Add in to that mix the great gfx and the multitude of player configurations and you have yourself a winner. (Which of course they have).
Congrats ANET and here is to your continued success! /liftmug

Superb! I've just finished it with my 1st char and am about to go again (slowly) with a derv. Really pleased with the missions, heros, storyline and more or less most things.
Well played Anet, you've done a great job with this one.

/stuck - I think that's the command they added!
Yeah anyway, onto Nightfall...
FTW!!!! I absolutely love this game, the update, the new armors (faints again at Primeval Warrior male.... sweet) the new dyes, templates... I could go on and on! I think that ANet deserve yet another round of applause for this absolutely amazing game! GG ANET!!

Love Nightfall.
This is the same team that made Prophecies. So I'm wondering if this sets the expectations for the next expansion.
Prophecies/Nightfall team = PVE expansion team
Factions/??? team = PVP expansion team
Note how it's ridiculously fast to level in Factions, as if it was designed to allow you to unlock skills rapidly to employe in PVP. That's how I would have designed it if I were on a team tasked with PVP innovation.
With two separate expansions a year, this means guaranteed PVP and PVE love each year. That means we should see some more revolutionary PVP action in the next expansion.

OK I like anet alot they have my support But!
Yes you worked hard anet but factions was a big slap in the face.
Not everyone is into pvp, i had bought the game for it rpg content.
Nightfall rocks I see there could even be more of improvement, But see this game as being a hit. The main part of this the story content rocks, it has major coolness factor and not even to the mount wurm part yet. Just about when I was going to give on you. You come with a game that meets my standards.
I think anet your on the right track, rpg puts the fun into the game. A little grind is not bad thing. You really can't get away with in any game. there is something for everyone.
I really beleave if keep adding better content and rpg. This game is going to better than wow.
this is the best mmorpg i have played Nightfall rocks. I am not going to lie, I have to be honest I didnot like factions. Factions is weak, lacked alot content for all players. However I can understand the hard put into all chapters. I can see anet becoming a very wealthy company.
Good job anet,
from the all the your money going to make, make sure to hire one team, so you have more than a year to work on a chapter. All this game is miss now is more end game content.
